The Annual Palestinian Table Quiz on Monday 27th December. Always a great night for a great cause!
Following in the footsteps of the Pine Hill Haints, our newest serving of Roots, Americana and Old time music comes in the form of
Lloyd Phillips and the Oil Skins.
“These noble songs penned and experienced by brave Lloyd Phillips and the Oil Skins might be the tunes that Otis Campbell and Ernest T. Bass should’ve written, had they been schooled lovingly by Tom Waits, Neil Young, and Paul Westerberg: thrown rocks toward church windows, bourbon bottles with half-shots left in the bottom, and crying women. Freight trains.”
At half 9 on Saturday 18 in Mc Girls Bar Ballinamore Co Leitim 🙂
We are very happy to say that Jinx Lennon is returning on Saturday night the 30th of October at 9pm. 🙂 This gig is not to be missed! Great entertainment all night. 🙂
The Cool Hand Dukes a three piece blues and rock n’ roll band influenced by American roots music from the1940’s & 50’s came together earlier this year. Brothers Niall, (Guitar & Vocals) and Patrick Kellegher, (Harmonica & Vocals), enlisted the talents of Boyle native Johnny McGlynn (Banjo & Slide Guitar) to complete a trio united by an idea of returning an honesty and intensity to playing high-energy music on acoustic instruments. Next Friday the 22 of October at 10pm.
Willie of the famed Fuzz Rock Sound System will be spinning discs in McGirls tomorrow night – Saturday. If the music and atmosphere were as good as the last ones then tomorrow night will be fun. Dont miss it.

Bio:
This six piece are the embodiment of the ska movement starting out as a swing and jazz outfit and converting in early 2007 to pure ska vibes. In keeping with their jazz roots, Skazz have chosen the original Jamaican scene Ska of the 1960’s – when Caribbean mento and calypso first met American jazz and rhythm and blues. Fans of the 2 Tone sound of the late 1970’s will feel at home on this dance floor with the added bonus of an education in pre-reggae/rocksteady tempos and cross rhythms. Having already shared stages with the likes of The Skatalites, Prince Buster, The Pioneers, Syramip, Dennis Alcapone, Winston Francis and Delroy Williams…
